For Next Week, Sept 3 and the Immediate Future

Of course, we won't be meeting on Monday (Labor Day), but I thought I could make it a little easier to find everything.
1. Readings due on Wednesday, Sept 3: Chandler's "Signs" + "Denotation, Connotation and Myth" Chapters from Semiotics for Beginners.
2. Remember that you need EITHER access to the Lynda.com tutorials OR the tutorial books - NOT BOTH. Unless you really want them both. (If you spoke with me about having used Photoshop extensively or have already taken more than a foundations class, you don't need either for now)
3. Tim Cresswell's Place: A Short Introduction will be needed in a few weeks. There is 1 reserved copy in the library (check here for its location), but remember, there is only one, it's first-come-first-serve and you can't leave the library with it. It can also be purchased from Amazon (I recommend checking the used selections).
4. Part 1 of Assignment 1 is due on Monday Sept 8.
5. Set up Flickr and Blogger accounts. If you already have one or both, you can use your current account(s), we'll use groups and tagging for Flickr images to make them easy to identify as class related. For Blogger, you can just create a new blog under your established account (or use another blogging platform).
Your first blog post should be regarding the first readings linked above.
Oh, and put your picture on your blog - this will help me remember everyone. See this for how.
